First of all, 99% of all RC cars are now made in China. Many of these come from the same factory and are simply slapped with different parts and badges off the same assembly line. I've seen it first hand. So Traxxis is better than Redcat, blah blah. Check to see where Traxxis is now made.

My Earthquake 3.5 broke in with zero problems. I've run it hard several times and even flipped it and cartwheeled without any issues. For anyone new to the hobby, RC cars break, RC planes break, RC boats break. It is the nature of the beast.

Redcat is still pretty new and they have corrected a number of deficiencies including weak parts. It is true that you still can find upgraded parts online which should last much longer. For $239.00, it's a great starter which can be upgraded. If you want to throw more money at a car with more bells and whistles, go for it, but I've found this to be a fun truck. Look up the most common parts to break and buy a few to keep in your kit. I've had to do this with RC airplanes for years regardless of manufacture. These are tinker toys and always will be. To me, that's partof the fun and challenge. I've even had to come up with my own fixes sometimes.
