This box makes a great starter set for anyone looking to get into Warhammer Fantasy Battle with a Vampire Counts army. Warhammer battles are assigned a "point" value which acts to balance armies. This box contains around 500 points. It's a mix of units that someone may want to supplement later, but for a starting player who wants to figure out their playing style, it's a good value. While a lot of the veteran players don't care for the zombies, they are a low-point value and when you add vampires and necromancers to your army list, you can "raise zombies" in the middle of the battlefield and use them to throw your opponent's well-planned tactics into disarray. You probably won't be building entire armies of zombies as your Basic Infantry, but having a block of twenty at your disposal is never a bad thing.
Corpse Cart is great. Do your research at Carpe Noctem (the largest Vampire Counts community online) before deciding to go with the Flame or the Unholy Lodestone. Your local Games Workshop reseller will have the Vampire Counts army book, which is a great all-in-one resource and necessary if you're going to play the army.
Skeletons are good for helping to take down cavalry, and can be regenerated with a Necromancer or Vampire (who all count as at least 1st level wizards).
Crypt Ghouls are a standard in many Vampire Count armies as they have the same point values as Skeletons but have a few additional bonuses, such as poison attack. They have their drawbacks but many tournament-ready Vampire Count army lists rely on Crypt Ghouls.
Overall quality is decent. The plastic miniatures need to be cut off the sprue (plastic base) and glued together, as well as painted. This is part of the Warhammer hobby. The included instructions are very, very basic since this same box is sold in many different countries. Go to Games Workshop's site, click on Warhammer, select Armies, then Vampire Counts > Articles. There are some great guides on how to glue these pieces together. The plastic itself is well-sculpted to look good, but is not meant for play with younger children. That being said, Warhammer is a great game for teaching logic and math for pre-teens on up.
3rd party reseller (I don't think Amazon carries this themselves) offers fast shipping and is highly reliable.
